How it works

This is the process followed to produce your interview:

Preparation

After setting a date for the interview, I’ll look forward to telephoning you for our pre-interview conversation. This is where I'll learn about your life and the moments that you’d most like to focus on. Based on your preferences, I’ll prepare personalised questions to ask during our interview session, to help guide the conversation and record your life experiences.

As part of preparation, you'll also receive some thought-provoking questions, to give you time for reflection beforehand.

The interview itself can be held in your home, or at another mutually agreed location.

The interview

One-on-one interviews create a safe space for sharing experiences in a relaxing environment.

The style will be easy, warm and conversational, conducted in a question and answer format. Any mistakes can of course be edited later.

Duration: Up to 75 minutes. (Additional recording sessions can be arranged if required)

As an experienced interviewer, I’ll support you to preserve the stories and experiences in your life. The relaxed conversation will help to bring out your personality, and add colour and warmth for those listening. 'Your favourite moments' is one of the themes that we'll cover, which is always uplifting. There might also be a message or advice that you'd like to send to loved ones.

What you will receive

Your interview will be edited and mixed to a professional standard.

You'll receive a high quality audio file (up to 75 minutes in length) on USB, for you to keep and share with your family and friends. This is presented in a quality linen keepsake box with your chosen photograph (sample below).

In addition to the USB, a private link will also be emailed to enable you to download the recording and share it with others.

Cathie Agg

Cathie is an experienced interviewer, audio producer, radio announcer and podcaster.

She brings an easy, personable and engaging style to the conversation. Her work is focused on communication through storytelling - helping people share their experiences, while retaining their essence and character.

Cathie began this service after friends said they wish they'd recorded their parents' stories and voices. She feels the same about her own parents who are no longer with us, and sees the timeless value in catching our loved ones' personalities and life experiences.
